| PUPPET PERFORMANCE ON INDIAN INDEPENDENCE- |
SYNOPSIS
This performance is a docu-drama, which looks at the lesser known heroes of the Indian struggle for independence like Madam Bikaji Cama, Surya Sen and Matangini Hazra. Each of these individuals made great sacrifices. Madam Bikaji Cama left a life of comfort and her husband to become a revolutionary, Surya Sen was hanged and Matangini Hazra at age 73 led a non violent protest during the Civil dieobedience movement and was shot for it. With photo documentation from the archives of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library it takes the audience on an audio-visual journey with shadow, puppets, projections and actors.

- This show has been produces with support from the Sangeet Natak Akademi
- Premiered at the festival of Puppets and Folk Music celebration 151 years of the First War of Indian Independence on December 12th, 2008 at the Meghdoot Theatre, Mandi house.
